Melissa Gilbert - Actress Melissa Gilbert and husband Bruce Boxleitner are calling it quits after 16 years of marriage?According to People, the "Little House on the Prairie" actress Melissa Gilbert and Bruce Boxleitner are separating.
Gilberts tells the magazine, "We have loved each other for a very long time and we share four incredible sons together," Gilbert said in a statement issued to People.com Tuesday.
"On behalf of our family we ask to be allowed our privacy during this very difficult time."
The couple married in 1995 and are the parents of a 15-year-old son Michael, 15, named for Michael Landon, Gilbert's costar, mentor and father figure during her 9-year (from 1974 to 1983) stint as Laura Ingalls on TV's Little House on the Prairie, according to People.
Melissa Gilbert also has a 21-year old son from a previous marriage.
