Rehab staffer accuses Lohan of battery, then is fired
LOS ANGELES – Authorities confirmed that Lindsay Lohan was being investigated for battery on a female stafferat Betty Ford rehab facility ended with the worker fired after giving an interview to TMZ about the incident.
Riverside County sheriff's office confirmed that they are investigating Lindsay Lohan for an alleged altercation with a worker at a Betty Ford Center facility in Palm Desert that occurred after 1 a.m. on Dec. 12. A Betty Ford spokesman declined to say what prompted the fight, but said the worker was interested in pursuing charges against Lohan. It is reported that Dawn Holland, the staffer involved in the incident has hired a lawyer to pursue filing employment and civil rights claims against the rehab center. Holland was "targeted, unmercifully interrogated, intimidated and threatened with her livelihood" by the treatment center, lawyer Keith Davidson said.
A Betty Ford spokesman said the staffer was fired for identifying patients at the center in an interview and "disclosing a privileged document."
The worker, Dawn Holland appeared in an interview on celebrity website TMZ on Tuesday afternoon and was promptly fired. She claims the 24-year-old Lohan and two other girls had sneaked out of the facility.
According to the interview with TMZ, Dawn Holland claimed she was trying to get Lohan to submit to a breathalyzer test when the actress became belligerent, pushed her and snatched a phone from her hand, straining her arm.
According to Lindsay Lohan's attorney, Lindsay called 911 to ask for police help during an "incident" at the Betty Ford Center.
