American film icon Alan Alda celebrates his 75th birthday today.
Mr. Alda is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Hawkeye Pierce in the long-running comedy series, M*A*S*H, a parody of a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital operated behind the front lines of the Korean war.
He has also starred in a number of movies, including 'The Four Seasons,' 'Same Time Next Year' and 'Crimes and Misdemeanors.'
Alda is also well known as a director and screenwriter.
In his long career, Mr. Alda has been honored with five Emmy Awards and six Golden Globes.
