Carrie Underwood Sings 'How Great Thou Art' on 'Girls Night Out' Special
Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill brought down the house singing "How Great Thou Art" during last night's CBS special Girls Night Out: Superstar Women of Country. The show featured several stellar performances by the likes of Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, The Judds, and Martina McBride. The women also honored the legendary Loretta Lynn by closing the show with a rousing version of "Coal Miner's Daughter." Great show, but again, Underwood was an absolute standout!
"How Great Thou Art" is a timeless Christian hymn, and Carrie Underwood's version of it seemed perfectly appropriate on the show, which aired on Good Friday. Her harmonies with Gill, who may not have the capacity to sing a single bad note, ever, took the song to new heights. Carrie's vocals were even more perfect than usual, and this could be one of her best-ever performances. If anyone ever doubted Carrie Underwood's talents, they'd be hard pressed to do that after seeing her on Girls Night Out. Gill's accompaniment on guitar and vocals just added icing on the cake.
