Meredith Vieira's departure from the "Today" show will be announced by NBC as early as next week, Parade magazine said Saturday. The web site said an earlier report from People magazine pegged Vieira's departure coming in June, three months before the end of her contract. The move is part of a major shuffling of the faceson "today" that includes moving news anchor Ann Curry into the spot on the sofa Vieira has occupied since 2006. Sources said Vieira wants to move on to something that would not require her to be on the set every day.
