Robin Williams pulled over by police in New York

Robin Williams - Live on BroadwayRobin Williams, was pulled over by the police for riding his bicycle on a New York sidewalk earlier this week. Robin Williams, who is currently starring in Broadway's 'Bengal Tiger at the Bahgdad Zoo', said he was dressed as a "terrorist or a crack dealer" at the time.
Speaking on this week's episode of 'The View', Williams said he was cycling down the sidewalk on a one-speed track bike wearing a balaclava and looking like a "terrorist" or a "crack dealer". The comedian said he suddenly heard a "whoop, whoop" and someone shout "pull over". Once Williams pulled down the mask, officers checked his identification and let him go with a warning. Host Elizabeth Hasselbeck told the actor, "I got hit by a bike on a sidewalk", to which Williams replied, "Well, then that's why. It is the law because of her". The 59-year-old is currently sporting a large bushy grey beard for his appearance in the Broadway play. Williams has received rave reviews for his performance in the production, which follows the story of two American Marines and an Iraqi translator whose lives are changed forever after an encounter with a quick-witted tiger. New York Times theatre critic Charles Isherwood noted of Williams performances, "He gives a performance of focused intelligence and integrity, embodying the animal who becomes the play's questioning conscience with a savage bite that never loosens its grip".
Robin Williams recently completed work on the forthcoming 'Happy Feet 2 in 3D', which hits cinemas on 18th November 2011. The actor voices the character of 'Ramon', with Elijah Wood and Pink also lending their voices to the project.
