Lindsay Lohan: Truck Driver Says Lohan's Party Tried To Pay Him Off after car crash

Lindsay LohanDid Lindsay Lohan attempt to pay off a driver to keep her name out of the press?
The driver of the 18-wheel truck Lohan crashed into -- only identified as "James" -- told gossip website TMZ the actress' party tried to bribe him to keep him from reporting the incident to the police. The driver also alleges that as he called 911, Lohan and her male assistant got out of their wrecked vehicle and into an Escalade, noting that her assistant attempted to shield a "pink bag" from view in the process.
Lohan was driving a rented $80,000 Porsche when she slammed into the massive truck Friday morning in Los Angeles, totaling her car. Her assistant was also in the car, in the passenger's seat. They were reportedly followed by a Cadillac Escalade driven by someone associated with "Liz and Dick," the Lifetime Elizabeth Taylor biopic Lohan is currently filming to much public scrutiny.
TMZ reports that "James" says he was approached by Lohan's assistant immediately after the accident with an offer to "go to the bank" to withdraw cash. He also told the website: "Him and the guy [driving the Escalade] took me across the street and told me this was some kind of famous person and they didn't want to be in the media. But I'd already called 911 because they were trying to get away from the scene. But they packed a bag and then the limousine driver told me, 'Don't mention the bag to the cops.'"
Meanwhile, photos published of the troubled actress leaving Santa Monica UCLA hospital show that the actress emerged apparently unscathed from the incident. According to Us Weekly, the 25-year-old actress immediately headed back to the "Liz and Dick" set: "She is fine and is already headed to resume work. Fortunately, no one was serious injured in the incident," Lohan's rep told the magazine.
Santa Monica Police Sgt. Richard Lewis also said they were no signs of driving under the influence -- from either party, telling the magazine: "There were no signs of impairment."
