Robin Thicke and Paula Patton: Don't loan Stuff to Your EX

According to TMZ, Robin Thicke and Paula Patton both just learned a lesson about divorce ... don't loan and don't borrow your ex's car, because it can cost you dearly.
We're told Paula got pulled over a few days ago by the CHP for speeding and an unsafe lane change. Deputies quickly noticed the registration on the Range Rover had expired.
Now the problems. It's not Paula's Range Rover. It's Robin's. Apparently he loans it to her from time to time. We're told Robin's people just forgot to write the DMV check.
Now here's the lesson for everyone. From Paula's point of view, she's rolling the dice when she drive's someone else's car ... all sorts of things could go wrong, including a traffic stop because the owner didn't pay the piper.
What Robin did is even dicier. If Paula's erratic driving resulted in an accident, Robin would be on the hook if the victim decided to sue.
Short story ... Keep separate property separate, pay your bills, and obey the speed limit.

Doris Roberts dead at age 90

Image result for doris roberts picsEverybody loved Doris. Ray Romano and more of Doris Roberts’ former costars remembered her on Monday, April 18, after learning of her death at the age of 90. The Everybody Loves Raymond actress’ rep confirmed to Us Weekly on Monday that Roberts died in her sleep on Sunday, April 17.

The Emmy-winning actress’ career spanned more than six decades, beginning with her role in 1952 on TV series Studio One. Roberts, who is best known for portraying helicopter mom Marie Barone in Everybody Loves Raymond, scored four Emmy awards for her work on the CBS series.
“Doris Roberts had an energy and a spirit that amazed me. She never stopped,” Romano, who played her son on the long-running sitcom that went off the air in 2005, told Us Weekly in a statement on Monday. “Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a young, green comic trying to make it as an actor, she did it all with such a grand love for life and people and I will miss her dearly.”

Michael Strahan Leaving ‘Live’

Image result for michael strahan picsThe move ends Strahan’s four-year run as host of the daytime talker;  since 2014 Strahan has joined the GMA team twice a week while co-hosting Live, which plans to kick off the search for a new co-host when the new season starts in the fall.  In 2012, Strahan was nabbed to co-host Live after a 10-month search for a replacement for Regis Philbin.  Strahan was named Philbin’s replacement after Ripa and producers kicked the tires on 59 guest co-hosts, though not all were serious contenders.  Anderson Cooper, for instance, was happily employed at CNN, where he’s now town-hall-ing the heck out of the 2016 presidential election cycle, though other names may show up again as reporters crafting Who Will Be Kelly Ripa’s New Live Co-Host lists hear from production sources, agents and managers.
GMA wisely is waiting until after Today takes center stage in the daypart during NBC’s Rio Summer Games, during which it’s expected to unveil more changes as EP Noah Oppenheim continues to evolve that franchise.
In today’s announcement, ABC News president James Goldston called Strahan “a great modern thinker and leader” and spoke of his “incredible ability to connect with people, from veterans and all kinds of newsmakers to a host of modern American cultural icons.” (Read the full memo below.)
This morning’s news comes just over four years to the day since Strahan announced, on Live with Kelly and Michael, that he was taking the GMA contributor gig, while assuring Ripa and fans that his Live gig was his top priority:  “This is what I do…This is me. This is my home. No matter what. I go nowhere. This is my love. You are my love. This is my job. So don’t worry, anybody, I’m not going anywhere.”
But, a couple weeks ago, Today broke GMA’s 108-week streak as No. 1 in overall audience.  The day NBC News could boast that Today had won the weekly ratings race in both total viewers and the news demo, for the first since since 2012, it confirmed Willie Geist’s move to Sunday Today would start this past Sunday.  Season to date, GMA is still the No. 1 morning program, taking the top spot at this point of the season for the fourth consecutive year.
This season Live With Kelly And Michael is the No. 1 entertainment daytime talk show in households (2.9 rating) and among women 25-54 (1.4 rating-tie). Overall, the show is second among syndicated talkers, behind only perennial No. 1 Dr. Phil this season. Live recently was renewed through 2020.
Strahan will remain a co-host of NFL On Fox; he began his career as TV on-air talent with Fox Sports, upon his retirement in 2008 from the  NFL, where he played for 15 years for the New York Giants.

Christian Slater Claims Father Tried to Kill Him

Christian Slater is responding to his the $20 million lawsuit filed by his father.
Image result for christian slater photosIn legal documents obtained by ET in February, Thomas Knight Slater -- who goes by the name Michael Hawkins -- cited an interview published in a December 2015 issue of the National Enquirer where the 46-year-old actor "described his father as suffering from manic-depressive schizophrenia." It appears, however, that the Enquirer article was sourcing an earlier interview that Slater did with Interview magazine, where opened up about his father's alleged mental health, as well as their late-in-life reconciliation.

According to the suit, Hawkins says those comments "ruined his career in the stage, motion picture, and television industry, which he has never recovered from."
In documents filed by Slater this month, he asks that Hawkins' lawsuit be thrown out, claiming that, on more than one occasion, his father demonstrated schizophrenic behavior and has not worked in the entertainment industry since 1988.
Slater even alleges that in 1972, his father "had been taken to Bellevue Hospital in a straight jacket after threatening to kill" him and his mother, Mary Jo Slater.
The Mr. Robot star adds in the declaration that it was his understanding that Hawkins also pushed his mother in front of a car when she was pregnant with the actor. Slater also says his Uncle Stuart Slater told him that his father had been admitted to Bellevue hospital "on multiple occasions" and "had obvious mental disruptions."
In addition, Slater alleges that his "own experiences" with Hawkins is a further implication that he suffers from schizophrenia. The actor says he's received "several letters, postcards and videos over the years from the Plaintiff that are often rambling and practically incomprehensible." Slater claims one of the postcards read: "I take FULL CREDIT: I'm the vital ingredient."
Slater goes on to claim that, given these experiences with his father, he "demanded that he see a psychiatrist in order to receive his monthly stipend" that Hawkins allegedly requested from his famous son. "When I referred to my father as 'manic-depressive schizophrenic' during the InterviewMagazine.com interview [in June 2015], I genuinely believed that the Plaintiff was 'manic-depressive schizophrenic' based on all the information I had from my mother and uncles, and, more importantly, based on my father's behavior and communications with me, and about me, my mother and others over the past 30 years," Slater says.
